Fantasy Book Challenge Complete!

November 14, 2012

I’ve read (for me) surprisingly little fantasy this year. I’m shocked that it took me until mid-November to finish this challenge. I really thought I would have knocked it out by no later than June, but that 2012 copyright requirement tripped me up! Here are the ten fantasy books published in 2012 that I read for the 2012 Young Adult/Middle Grade Fantasy Reading Challenge¬†hosted by¬†Erica at The Book Cellar.

  • Snow in Summer by Jane Yolen
  • Froi of the Exiles by Melina Marchetta
  • Cabinet of Earths by Anne Nesbet
  • The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen
  • Spindlers by Lauren Oliver
  • The Voyage of Lucy P. Simmons by Barbara Mariconda
  • Invaders by John Flanagan
  • Hunters by John Flanagan
  • Grave Mercy by R. L. LaFevers
  • The Hero’s Guide to Saving the Kingdom by Christopher Healy
  • Assassin’s Curseby Cassandra Rose Clarke

No contest, my favourite read was The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen, but I continue to enjoy John Flanagan’s books well into his second series, The Brotherband Chronicles. The Hero’s Guide to Saving the Kingdom has also been an easy sell to library patrons.

Time to finish up the Award Winning Books Challenge now!
