Flannel Friday: Loads of Candy & a Touch of Gingerbread

on December 2, 2011

The Tech Club kids started a trailer for the Candy Shop War (It is almost finished. I’ll share our learning curve when I share the completed video). While these felt candy pieces don’t show up much in the video, I made them to decorate the puppet theatre that we used as the sweet shop. I made five of each type because I figured that way they would work for all sorts of future “five little” storytime activities. Five Little Candy Canes fits the season, but, as you can see, I had Halloween in mind as well. Using the sandcastle pieces I made in the summer, they can also make a gingerbread house for the season. The next addition I’d like to make is Hansel, Gretel and an old lady a la Melissa’s felt people.

Today’s Holiday Extravaganza roundup is hosted by Library Quine at Loons and Quines. You can also find past and future roundups, at So Tomorrow. For a visual round-up of all postings, check out Flannel Friday on Pinterest.

Beautiful. and a lot of work. almost as much as a real gingerbread house! But a lot of planning and attention to detail and you’ll be using this for a lonnnng time! Nice.

  3. They look so yummy! And so versatile too!
