Flannel Friday: Embroidery Hoop Flannel Board

March 1, 2013

I realize this has not a thing to do with summer reading theme, but I thought you would all appreciate the awesomely huge embroidery hoop I scored for $1 at a local thrift shop. I included the top of the love seat for perspective. Huge, but since its oval still fits on my lap.

I love it! I recently had a question on my blog about making a flannel board and I suggested using an old picture frame (remove the glass), but this looks much easier! Thanks for sharing.

What kind of fabric did you use? Just cotton? Or did you find a big sheet of a kind of felt? I was thinking this could be a good way to make individual flannel boards to pass out in ST (with smaller hoops). We have some fancy ones but sometimes run out. Great idea!

It’s very light weight flannel from the thrift shop. Good idea to use small hoops to make individual ones.
