Flannel Friday: Foam Turtles

by rovingfiddlehead on June 28, 2012

This week’s Flannel Friday post is courtesy of my wonderful coworker, Karen. During July, Karen has Turtle Storytime planned for many of her outreach visits so she made these cute little guys with craft foam and some puffy paint. As she says, “each one is different because we are all unique.”

She made some adaptations to a rhyme she found to use with them.

Five Little Turtles
One little turtle with nothing to do
Called for his friend, and then there were two
Two turtles strolling by a tree
Saw their buddy, now there are three
Three turtles, a log as their floor
Made room for a pal, now there are four
Four turtles warming in the sun
Saw a fifth friend and said, “What fun!“
Five turtle friends went out to play
And went home tired at the end of the day.

I am hosting Flannel Friday this week. You can also find past and future roundups and lots more information about Flannel Friday at the Flannel Friday website. For a visual round-up of all postings, check out Flannel Friday on Pinterest.

Love the turtles! Your coworker is very talented with fun foam. :o)

Btw, my library has that exact same carpet in our meeting rooms. Lol

Thanks for hosting the round-up this week. I think the link-up looks awesome and it has been so much easier and quicker to visit everyone’s blogs this week ~ for me anyway. I try to visit and comment on all blogs each week. It usually takes me a lot longer than it has taken me tonight. I hope that others will want to use the linking tools, too. :o)
