Flannel Friday: Hide & Seek with Little Bat

From the depths of my PUBYAC files, another hide and seek flannel this week. The kids just love all variations and the rhyming words make me think of Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas, a book I just love to share.

Little bat likes to play hide & seek! / He’ll hide while you close your eyes,
But don’t you dare peek! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 / Ready or not, here we come!
Where are you hiding, little bat, little bat? / Are you behind the big yellow hat?
Where are you hiding, little bat, little bat? / Are you behind the baseball bat?
Where are you hiding, little bat, little bat? / Are you under the welcome mat?
Where are you hiding, little bat, little bat? / Are you behind the big gray cat?

For the cat, I used a template from the Texas State Library site. The others are freestyle with hat inspiration from The Man with the Yellow Hat.

    I think my storytime kids would love this one! It would be great for around Halloween, or a bat-themed ST too. Did you use clip art for the patterns? Or another source?

      Except for the cat (I’ve updated the post with the link to its template), they are freestyle. You can probably tell that the hat is styled on The Man with the Yellow Hat.

    I love the rhyme and the flannel board. It is perfect for early literacy skill building- rhyming and vocabulary. I am definitely going to use this one. Thanks!
