Flannel Friday: Princess Wore a Red Crown Flannelboard

on January 6, 2012

Since both are filled with great ideas, I’m planning to borrow heavily from the Katies for next week’s storytime. In addition to book and rhyme ideas from Sharing Soda’s Fantasy Storytime and Storytime Katie’s Fairy Tales Storytime, I decided to make Sharing Soda’s “Princess Wore a ____ Crown.” Sing it to the tune of “Mary Wore Her Red Dress”  and make as many crowns as you’d like. I plan to alternate crowns between the prince and the princess. My favourite is the shiny silver crown even though it didn’t photograph well. The red one is all sparkly though so that might be the one the kids like best. The prince and princess are based on templates at the ALA Editions website via So Tomorrow’s Blanket for the Princess post.

Today’s Flannel Friday host is Mollie at What Happens in Storytime. You can also find past and future roundups at So Tomorrow. For a visual round-up of all postings, check out Flannel Friday on Pinterest.

Is that patterned felt I see? They’re lovely crowns, and the kids are sure to have a lot of fun with them. Right, off to make crowns now!
