Flannel Friday: The Enormous Carrot Flannelboard

August 30, 2013

Remember Karen’s carrot storytime with Creepy Carrots from last week? She also got creative with the wallpaper stash in the Children’s Room and made this neat flannelboard set to go with the Russian folktale The Enormous Carrot. Each piece is made with a base of green felt and topped with a colourful piece of patterned wallpaper. I think they are super!

This Russian folktale is told often told with a turnip as the starring vegetable. The Giant Turnip was a popular choice for the “One World Many Stories” roundup in 2011.
