For Halloween, I adapted the story, The Chocolate Chip Ghost, to a folder story. Instead of brother and sister ghosts, I just had one little ghost who enjoyed changing colours. More like Sylvie, the flamingo who had so much fun changing colors by eating different food.
She started out white when her mother left to buy vanilla ice cream and milk & warned her not to eat anything.
A little sip of grape juice wouldn’t hurt, wouldn’t it?
Ooh! This is fun. How about a carrot?
Next up, spinach.
Time for something sweet. Strawberries look good.
Oh, no! Mama will be home soon. How will she get white before Mama gets home? This ice cream is mostly white. Those little specks can’t hurt.
Oops! Now she’s a chocolate chip ghost! Just then Mama comes home and send her to bed to eat only vanilla ice cream and white milk for five days.
Voila! Little Ghost turned white again just in time to shout “Boo!” for Halloween.
This week’s Flannel Friday round-up is hosted by Tracey at 1234 More Storytimes. To find past and future roundups, head on over to So Tomorrow. For a visual round-up of all postings, check out Flannel Friday on Pinterest. There’s a Facebook group as well now.

This would be super awesome in a food storytime! (And of course, it absolutely fits for Halloween.)
