March 6, 2012

Want to see your face on a dollar bill? or Chinese yuan? or Norwegian kroner? Festisite Money makes it easy. I thought chainmail (from a Magic Thief program) was a good accompaniment to Norwegian money. This is the kind of easy-to-learn tool Kids Tech Club loves playing with if they arrive early.

Kids are more familar with silent films from The Invention of Hugo Cabret and the recent movie version, Hugo, and the Artist, but thanks to Hugo the Artistifier, which turns YouTube clips into silent films, should catch their interest as well. (via Joyce Valenza)

We had a lot of fun with JellyCam  and Legos the last two weeks. It is slick and easy, especially if you create pictures with a webcam. Uploading the animation to YouTube is also easy. You can also insert photos you’ve taken although this didn’t always work as smoothly.

Stop Frame Animator was another big hit. Examples of their work: Dance Don’t Prance and Aliens are REAL!
