A firetruck is always a good addition to any set of flannels (or house with preschoolers). This firetruck and its partner pieces will work with many rhymes and flannel games, I made making sure I had all the components for “Hurry Hurry.” The ladder is not glued down so that I can raise it when it is time to “climb the ladder.”
My firetruck template is available on Slideshare. I used a cookie cutter to make the bell.
Hurry, Hurry (tune: 10 little Indians)
Hurry, hurry, drive the fire truck (x3) ERRRRRRR!
Hurry, hurry, ring the bell (x3) Ding, ding ding ding ding
Hurry hurry climb the ladder (x3) climb, climb, climb, climb, climb (with motions)
Hurry, hurry squirt the water (x3), splash, splash, splash, splash, splash
Hurry, hurry back to the station (x3) early in the morning
It will also be fun to use as an option for the ever popular Where Does It Go? flannel game.
