Flannel Friday Inspiration Post: Jenny’s Socks

by rovingfiddlehead on April 27, 2012

I made a flannelboard copy of Jenny’s Socks that Sharon adapted in September. There are green, blue, loose, tight, patriotic, lacy and more socks. See Sharon’s post for full sock descriptions. My library doesn’t own this book so it was new to me and a perfect accompaniment to Bob Shea’s New Socks and Lizette’s Green Sock by Catherine Valckx.

My Jenny looks like a farmer since I seem to include a disproportionate amount of farm animals in storytime and this way she’ll fit right in with other flannel pieces.

While I’ve picked up many great ideas from Flannel Friday, I’m thrilled that my need for picture book flannelboard adaptations has just decreased dramatically. We are no longer televising Saturday storytimes. Celebration time! No more copyright restrictions!

Today’s Flannel Friday host is Erin at Falling Flannels. You can also find past and future roundups at So Tomorrow. For a visual round-up of all postings, check out Flannel Friday on Pinterest.
